    Hi all,

I'm creating an intranet for my school where teachers can go on to receive valuable information and documents.

I would like to add a feedback form to the site so that I can get information about errors or any new additional requirments etc. As far as I'm aware I think I need to use some form of PHP or perl or CGI scripts to get this to work as an email of the details entered on the form would need to be sent to myself the webmaster.

Question: Do I need a Webhost for an Intranet? If not how do I get the PHP etc scripts to work without a webhost?
Also If I do need a webhost, does anyone have any suggestions on any good free webhosts that support PHP etc.

    Thanks in advance
    CC30

i'm not specialised in this area but ill help as much as i can.

you would need somethng like php or perl to do this. you don't need a webhost for an intranet but it could make it easier. you do however need some kind of server to use php; a webhost would provide this for you. however your can download aplanche or xampp and they will allow you to use php and mysql on your computer. i use as a free webhost 110mb.com. they're good but im still new to them, so just hunt around and you'll find one eventually. There is a webhost section of these forums where you might find more help on this area. But try to get paid hsoting. they're garanteed more features and support and they don't cost much. You can get great hosting for under $100 per year. (australian dollars).
So I would encourage you to use paid hosting. The only reason that i use free hosting is because I'm a school kid and can't afford it. well i could but coulnd't be bothered at this stage. but for what you're doing, you should be getting better than free hosting.

    hope this helped!
