I don't want to have an internal search in my website, but would like to add the ability for the user to be able to search the site.

I remember seeing something before where a site basically had a "search" button that took them to google, but their searches were site specific.

Is there anyway to do this while hiding the obvious "site:www.site.com"???

    Thanks for the help!

Google Site Search does what you ask, as far as I know. Not sure if it tags on the site: stuff or not.

Yeah, I saw that while searching google... but it costs money =/

    I found another way though

If within the form, you add an "input type="hidden" name="sitesearch" value="www.site.com", it does the same thing and limits the search to your site.

    Thanks though.

On second thought, I was referring to this I think: http://www.google.com/coop/cse/

I believe that's free. I had forgotten there was also a for-pay version.

But Google custom search engine does not search all the pages. It searches only the pages indexed by Google for that particular site.
