    Hi all,

    I have an image at the top right hand corner of my webpage. When I open the image in MS picture manager the image dimensions are 745 x 769 pixels.

    To add the image to the page I'm using the following code:
    <img src="Crest.jpg" width="197" height="140" />

    This is fine, It reduces the image to the desired size on the web page however I loose picture quality. The text on the image is illegible.
    Does anyone know how I can reduce the image without loosing picture quality?
    I have attached the image here also.

    Thanking you all in advance for you help

    You'll have to resize the image in a program like Photoshop, Paint.NET, the GIMP or some such. Then save the new file with the new size. Then you can drop the width/height declarations on your img tag.

    Browsers are generally much worse at scaling images than image editors are, because scaling an image well is a computationally expensive operation, so browsers just half *** it instead to make sure the page renders fast.
