I have a 3 column layout at the top half of my home page and the bottom half is kinda a mixture of one and two columns.

My problem lies with the right column overlapping my h2 text toward the middle of the page. I've tried adding a "clear" div, clear both on my "h" tags, but to no avail. The only fix I can get is to add a few "p" tags to my left or middle floated column to bring it down far enough to make it work. But I don't like that fix, there's something I'm missing. I would like a more proper fix. I haven't had any problems until I added the funny pics on the left and right columns just a couple of days ago. Doesn't seem to do it in IE7.

    Please help!

I guess I would ask the obvious question ...
"are the funny pics doing anything for you"?

Unless those funny pics are contributing to the experience
of making money, I wouldn't even think about adding them.

There is a purpose for your site, and the user's experience is
to find "good deals" and "coupons" for local businesses. Don't
block the user's view with funny pics that are not funny pics.

What appears "above the fold" .... (content on the browser window without
scrolling vertically or horizontally), is so critical ... you can't imagine how many
people will click-through or click-out of your site if they don't see what interests
    them.

Do some research on psychology of how people scan a page with their eyes.
What people look for in the very first 3-seconds of visiting your site.

That switch from 3 to 2 columns, and the left column disappearing halfway
down is like a "road closed" sign to me. It makes your site look like it's
not finished, or the author has sort of "given-up".

Not exactly the fix I was looking for, however I will heed your advice. I was experimenting a little as humor is one thing that interests all people. But I gotta agree, I don't think it's doing anything for the site. I think I get tired of looking at the same thing everyday.

Now suppose I want to put an ad there, I will still have the same problem. I've been fighting the column transition since the site was built. It looks fine as long as the bottom of my columns sorta end in the same position. The content does change frequently so there is sort of a no man's land there, wether I had the bottom half of the site or not. I may redesign the homepage at some point into a 2 column, I don't know.

Anyways, is there a coding problem there?

In your #events_box_home, you have this line:
    height: 450px;

How is that possible when you not only have "div_box_big.jpg" that is 609px tall,
plus you're then adding the "funny pic". I think you're overflowing.

Wow your probably right. Thanks a lot in advance. I'm not using the expanding rounded corners div so that's why I have specified a height on those. I really need to redesign the page as the narrow columns kinda limit what content goes in there. And yes, get rid of the "not so funny pics".
    Thanks
