I am fixing a site to use external CSS instead of internal and inline CSS and tables. There are <span "lang=en-us"> tags all over the page, and aren't used for styles. Is there a reason for this that I just don't know about? The site doesn't provide the option to change the language or anything.Or did whoever coded this before just not know what they were doing? I mean they are just in meaningless places...like around one letter of a word, or a couple words of a sentence...but they are not styled at all in the inline or internal CSS.

Well, found an answer to my question. Apparently someone used FrontPage at some point editing this site and FrontPage adds them when the page language and keyboard language are not the same. So....this question has been resolved.
