    I have a problem with overflow and html dom.
    I am adding content to a cell via the html dom. When the cell fills up I want it to overflow. That is I want scroll bars to appear on the cell, allowing me to scroll through the content.
    This is what I have

    #cell {overflow: auto; height: XXXXpx}
    Then a script that adds content to #cell when activated.

    What happens is that it just expands the height the cell, screwing up my page. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Try setting the height on the row that contains it instead.

    Also, if we could see the page it would be very helpful.

    EDIT: Another option is to put a div within the cell and set those same styles on the div instead of on the cell.
