I am not even sure how to put this nor did i know what to search for an answer but here is my situation.

I have a flash Menu that i want across all pages , only this animation needs to stay all the time and not loose its place inthe animation or reload, or restart on a new page load. Basically i want to click a link that would then change the HTML text to the appropriate section , all the while the flash movie keeps playing from the point the user was last at without reloading and starting from square one on the new page.

I have images that cycle and some cool navigation features that would open new parts of the flash for interaction purposes, i dont want to end user to have to re navigate to the section they were in on the flash movie if they navigate to a new page.

I had though frames or iframes but they have issues of their own and as far as i can tell are regarded bad practice these days.

Does this make any sense? and if so how would i implement this?

I can only think of using <iframes> or doing the whole page with Flash.

If you used <iframe>, you would still need to program the Flash links
to "target" the <iframe>. I'm not sure if there might be a Javascript
way to do it or not.

I'm sort of thinking maybe you should not deal with the Flash thing
and make your site fast loading and usable without it.
Does it really make a difference with your site?

hmmm...javascript or php would probably take care of that, but I am not sure how to go about it. Ajax could be a good option.

How about php require or php includes?

    Diddy ...

I think the key point is the need to not refresh the screen.
PHP includes would be the best thing for switching content, but
getting it switched without a refresh is the problem. Ajax might
be the answer ... which ends-up being Javascripting.

Tough call. Maybe do the whole site with Flash?

yeah, flash seeems the best option, but then you've got the flash plugin issue. But I don't think that matters much.

There's fors and againsts for every option - it's just a matter of weighting them up and seeing what is your best option. And the best option will depend on your situation.
