As usual I have a problem with my web site, recently google found 2 html errors, it was trying to view www.mywebsite.com/index.shtml and www.mywebsite.com/index.shtml/

As far as I know they don't even exist or should not exist, so why google went looking for them is beyond me,
If i type in my web site with the /index.shtml there is an error message as follows
    Directory has no index file.

Browsing this site or directory without an index file is prohibited.

If you are the site's webmaster, you can remedy this problem by creating a default HTML page with one of the following names:
    • index.html
    • index.htm
    • default.htm
    • Default.htm
    • home.html
    • Home.chtml
But I do have an index.html which is the main page of the site
Anyone have an idea what is going on,

What is your website (give us a link to your URL)?

I'm wondering if there is something in your .htaccess file that is messing things up.
If you have an .htaccess file, what are the contents of that?

And how do you know Google found those errors ... describe that.
