I created a simple background image I want to use for the body. Basically I designed the home page in photoshop at 1920x1200 and sliced out the Header which will be 1024 wide (centered, so there are 4 slices total - the header, Main content area below the header, and the sides), and I wanted the rest of the image (the sides and Main content area) to be in the background of the site (it's a non-repeatable image), but I don't want the site to be 1920px wide, I just want to have the image in the BG to keep a continuous look.

Is this even possible, or does the site have to be 1920 wide to fit the image?

You should ask yourself if the background image is really important enough
to be a large non-repeatable image. Will it add enough value to the page?
Will most of it be covered-up anyhow? I think the amount of time you have
to put into it, and the large size of the files makes it questionable.

Maybe you should show us the image, and describe what the site is for.
