    I use .htaccess for directory protection on an apache server. How can I create an html login form for that instead of that pop-up login box?

    I don't think you can.
    You would have to use server side scripting. The downside with that is that you would have to put the code in every page you want to protect, whereas with .htaccess the whole directory, including files and subdirectories, are protected.
    I cannot self terminate, you must lower me into the fire.
