Last week I had a job interview for a web production position. I was giving a written test and proudly I was able to answer most of the questions no problem. I finished up with Web Design School a few weeks ago so this is one of the first jobs I've applied for.

But one of the questions had me stumped. It asked why having too much "white space" or "extra white space" in my HTML was a bad thing?

Obviously I am a beginner so I don't know everything but I studied pretty hard in school and aced every test with an A+ so I am no slouch. But I've honestly never heard of this.

So can anyone bring me up to speed and define why this is a negative?

    Thanks for any input.

After some searching, I found this. I seem to remember having and issue or two with this happening. Has to do with spaces, tabs and carriage returns.
