    Hi everyone

Okay.. I think I may have just potentially got a job that will get me into some paid work in the world of web stuff

A lot of the requirements within this brief I can deal with, but there are a few that Ive either never been expected to cater for - as a volunteer - which are top priority here :S

Can anyone shed any light on how to deal with:
    a) Designing for those with disabilities, exactly these points:
    • "Colour blindness testing for all pages
    • ALT tags for all images
    • Tabbing order for keyboard navigation
    • Legibility of all text across a range of monitor sizes
    • Printability of all pages on the web site"

    b) Getting very detailed statistics (can this be done with analytics? :S )

"regular and reasonably thorough web site statistics, presented in numerical and in graphic form (e.g. bar charts) such as:

    • Total number of hits
    • Broken down by day of the week
    • Broken down by hour of the day
    • Broken down by page
    • Total numbers of page views
    • Broken down by day of the week
    • Broken down by hour of the day
    • Broken down by page
    • Most viewed pages
    • Total number of unique visitors
    • Broken down by day of the week
    • Broken down by hour of the day
    • Broken down by page
    • Most visited pages
    • Most popular “landing” pages
    • Any time-related statistics ,E.g. Time spent on pages by unique visitors, Broken down into sub-categories, as above"
..Thats a lotta stats..im panicking a lil bit!

Have you ever read the web style guide?

    http://webstyleguide.com/wsg3/index.html

This is a great book that you can read:

also, for stats, just about any decent web stat tool will give you all of that. I know that Google Analytics will provide all of that information, and it's free.

search google for website accessibility, that should cover your first point. getting statistics can normally be sorted out via your website host. pick one that gives you all the stats you need, also google Analytics like gator said. Nothing to panic about really, chill!

thanks for the reassurance guys and for the links alligator!

with the analytics stuff - how do i control it to make it do those things specifically? :S Admittedly i do have an account with a site, but i cantreally experiment because my site has no real stats to look at or play with - its an old project..

With Google Analytics it is recording all the data as standard.

You select what you want to see when you need to see it. So there is nothing to set up it just all pops out on your screen.

All of your list should be available to you once the account is active on a site.

This is where I go for accessibility guidelines

All of the data is organized by category in the left side navigation. You can organize the dashboard to show you snapshots of what data you think is important, then drill-down into those sections.

    Emma,

When you have a chance, check out http://www.accessifyforum.com/ - it's an accessibility design forum with lots of good info on that specialty.
