I’m building a simple “Latest Jobs” news ticker, its nothing fancy and I’m only right at the start but for some strange reason which I just cannot fathom out each time the weblog populates it forces a new line

Have you looked at the code that is being generated on the page? Chances are there is something unique that you can search for within your ticker to see where the newline is being created.

For instance, if the newline is being created with a <p>, then search for <p> in your ticker code - this will at least show you where you can start to figure out how to stop the newline from appearing.

For more than that, you'll need to post a URL or the code or something - as was already said. ;-)
