    Hi
i am building a simple website where people can select the country they want to call i my list will provide them with the number and the price but i am really stuck now if you go to

    HERE

You can load the site up there is the list on the main page but also when you click on the cheap calls from mobile or cheapcalls from lindline tabs it takes you to another page where you can see a drop down box with all the countrys this works fine but i dont know how to add a submitt button and also i am not sure how to set it up so that is shows the right country and number

Here is a site like mine that might help

    SITE LIKE MINE

I just want the drop down box to do the same as it does on that site

    Kind regards
    James

They use Javascripting to provide both a onselect function and a button,
in case someone has Javascripting turned off. You can view their source
and do the same thing, or use Google to find a "javascript form select country".

I have no idea how much you know about PHP, and what scripting you
already have ... the Javascript will send the data to PHP and will be processed.
No idea if you have an existing database (MySQL), or no idea what you have, period.

You say it's a simple website, but what does "simple" mean?

    Here's a chain select type:
    http://bonrouge.com/~chain_select_js

The solution to your problem can be solved in a couple of different ways.

The site you're trying to mimick uses server-side scripting to generate the content of each page. They're using a database to store all of the countries and the applicable data for each.

You need a database set-up with a row for each number.
The MySQL database will have many rows, but that's OK.

Not sure how much you know about PHP and MySQL, but you may be at
a spot where you need to hire a programmer to work on the "back-end" of your site?

Start by making a database using Notepad (or any simple text editor).
One row for each number, and various fields that you need ...

Example, your fields might be like this ... separated by pipes |

    alpha|country|zip/postal|number1|number2|number3|cost|code|

So your text file might look like:

    A|Australia|567|78-555-2342|76-231-2343|61-343-2342|0.50|m7J5r67
    U|United States|55005|651-555-2342|763-231-2343|612-343-2342|0.50|LD3k5Hu6
    .
    .
    .

It doesn't matter what order the rows are in, as it will be searched and sorted anyhow.

Make-up as many "fields" or columns as you need.

Build the text database and then a programmer can use that to create your MySQL database table.

That's the best way to start.

Once a MySQL table is created, a PHP script will take the user's zip or postal code,
or country and search the database. It will give them the results of whatever
they search for, and display it any way you choose.

You will have a separate ADMIN section where you can add/edit/delete entries
    in your database.
