Could anyone point me to the right direction on how I can start customizing my Wordpress Blog?

I want it to have a sort of comic theme to it, and I have no idea where to start doing that.

The link is thelighstream.wordpress.com, but I have it protected since its contents are for a novel I'm working on.

I was hoping to be able to bring it out after having customized it.

And FYI, I'm currently using the "Structure" theme.

So you're using an online service to host your WordPress, not your own website?
I'm not sure if you CAN edit any of the files to customize it.
Do they give you access to all of the files?

For the Structure theme? No... I don't have access to all the files. Though I can change colors or whatever if I want.

I'm using the standard wordpress site. You think I should get my own domain (or whatever it's called)?

You will probably have to get your own website, i.e. domain name and hosting service (basically all hosts will register the domain name for you). For example, get a website - www.thelighstream.co.uk

Then you will need knowledge of CSS, HTML and PHP (possibly Javascript) to edit the theme.

There are a number of good tutorials out to help get you started, and the wordpress.org site itself has a lot of helpful information on it to get you started.

    Check out:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Development
    http://www.webdesignerwall.com/tutor...rdpress-theme/

There are a lot more sites out with with specific help concerning different aspects of wordpress, such as sidebar customization etc.

HOWEVER, if you have no idea about coding, it is best of hiring somebody else to do it for you or to just change it as much as you can on the wordpress.com blog, because if you don't having any coding experience then it will be extremely hard to do this yourself.

    Hope this helps, good luck

    http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/
    Also has themes.

    http://theinfiniteloopblog.com
is an example of a themed wordpress.
Its basically just upload the files and switch themes. If you want to get really into detail, you may want to use the custom tutorials links above, but, maybe youll find what your looking for in the wordpress themes.

Also, in terms of customizing the sidebars etc, do a google search for 'wordpress sidebar widgets'
