Getting the <p> tags outside of the ul lists will fix a lot of those errors. Do those then recheck.

<div class="logo"> is not allowed in an <a href=""> so get it out of there...

Your first error is showing on line 131 so start here. Many times (most times) and especially with this type of error, it has a domino effect on the underlying validation. So instead of jumping around and fixing pieces always start at the top and work your way down.

You'll be pleasantly surprised to re-validate and find you fixed several errors by correcting 1 badly placed or written tag.

Looks good and you should be proud of this site knowing it's accessible and meets web standards!

Keep validating that bad boy until it green lights!

    John,

Line 124, you cannot use an h1 heading inside of an <a href> but you can hyperlink the the <h1>heading.

Here's an example: I am not trying to deliberate confuse you ;-) Just trying to help. I copy/pasted this from my place.

    <h1 id="whatevernameyouwant"><a class="whateverclassyouwant" href="yourpage.html" title="yourtitle" target="_self">makeyourtheme.com</a></h1>

You do not need to use an ID or a class. It just gives you more freedom to style. The markup should meet accessibility standards too..

So essentially, you just have it backwards. Your getting there man!
I don't mean to keep butting in if that is what I am doing....I just dig this stuff and validating my own sites has become quite the nemesis at times ;-/

Thanks mark. . . Ill try and try until I would get validated. . . btw it seems that google custom search engine has made some errors to . . . and not to mention the affiliate advertisment link that I had placed on my sidebar. . . that is why I took it out of there. . . any ideas? and of I wanted my logo to actually be hyperlinked is that possible without getting any error? should I use <img> tag? and hyper link it?

Hey man! Your down to 10 errors!!!

That's a sign of progress if I ever saw one. On line 358, change the ampersand "&" to &amp; and don't forget to check to make sure the links or scripts still work ;-) I think this is a cascading error so it may fix a few others too!

I seem to always get scripts and links from affiliates and/or advertisers that do not validate. I do not complain much about it because there is a lot of old'er sh&t still out there and the more crap I come across the more experience I get writing clean code. Sometimes I fire off an email and let the script writer or affiliate company know the script is not validating in whatever version but it really depends on my mood. I have 3 pages on my site right now that I need to contend with...One of those things where I validated, made changes and forgot to validate again!! I heard the mind was the first to go but I never really put any stock in that....Wonder if its true...

John, your doing great! Sometimes these things can floor you.....Keep at it, it's always stupid stuff that gets me the most ;-/

Hey what's goin on J. I'd love to rate your site but I need a few days to actually dig into it. I'm so f-ing busy, painting my living room and kitchen, kid has baseball playoffs (he just made the All Star team!), and work is insane as well as trying to wrap up a site. soon as I get some breathing room I'll get at ya!
(notice that none of my time is spent playing the damn guitar)

    Later dude...
