    Good morning everyone, I am having a small issue with my code and I am hoping someone can help.

    Background: I am a photographer and cook who recently launched a wordpress food blog. I don't have any background in coding, but I managed to get my site up and running by modifying a wordpress theme in Dreamweaver CS5.

    Problem: The site looks wonderful in Firefox, Chrome and IE8. When I view the website in IE7, the header and nav bar seem to smash into the content and sidebar boxes. Something is dropping down or floating up and I'm not sure how to fix this.

    I have been searching around google, but I just can't seem to find the right fix!

    My wordpress site is here ow[dot]ly[slash]2g2ED

    Please let me know if this is sufficient information. Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hmm no responses yet I have attached two images showing the issue. Anyone have any ideas? I can post my CSS as well, but I'm not sure which parts to post...

    Thanks!

    The issue seems to be with the header's height. Add
    Code:
    *height:265px;
    to the header css and it should point you in the right direction (yes it is an IE hack).

    Thank you for the response! I changed the height of the header to 260px. Now everything looks great in IE7; however my header image disappeared in Firefox (see attached image). Here is my header CSS:

    #header {
    padding: 30px 0 0 0;
    *height: 260px;
    width: 960px;
    background-image: url(images/Logo%20Color%20Gradient-01.png);
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-position: left top;
    }
    #site-title {
    float: left;
    margin: 0 0 18px 0;
    width: 700px;
    font-size: 30px;
    line-height: 36px;
    }
    #site-title a {
    color: #000;
    font-weight: bold;
    text-decoration: none;
    }
    #site-description {
    clear: right;
    float: right;
    font-style: italic;
    margin: 14px 0 18px 0;
    width: 220px;
    }

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!
    Brandon

    Change the #header css to this:
    Code:
    #header {
    	padding: 30px 0 0 0;
            height: 200px;
    	*height: 260px;
    	width: 960px;
    	background-image: url(images/Logo%20Color%20Gradient-01.png);
    	background-repeat: no-repeat;
    	background-position: left top;
    }

    Is this hack for IE7 and up? Why is this the first time I've seen an IE fix like this?!

    Yeah this is a hack for IE. Not sure why you haven't seen it before though . This particular one targets both IE6 and IE7. CSS Hacks - this is a good reference.
