I have NEVER run into something like this before!

I am revamping my site - changing the layout on the front page, which, since I am using PHP includes for the footer, it changes the footer across the site.

I have one CSS for the main content (style.css ), and the one each for the footers (footer.css and footer_fr.css), since the text in the French part of the site changes the layout a bit.

Everything was fine until I looked at it in IE, and even then it loaded just fine. But when I put the mouse over the Green Hosting logo in the footer - it JUMPS to the left!!

This does not happen in Firefox, nor does it happen in the French version of the site - I have been working on it for hours now and I'm getting very frustrated and puzzled!

Well, I've got IE 7 and it's jumping to the left.

I have closed and reopened the browser, even closed everything and rebooted (hey, it's Windows...) and no matter what I do, it keeps doing it. When the page loads it is fine - the pass the mouse over the image and it jumps to the left about 275px!!

I have a lot of clients who use IE 7 and I don't want to upgrade just so I can ignore this problem (LOL) - anybody else out there have IE7 ? Can somebody take a look for me and let me know whether you see it too?

    Thanks,

It's probably something like a border on hover breaking a float by overextending the width.

    SOLVED!

Posting the answer here just in case anyone else ever runs into this situation - of course it was caused by my own carelessness. :-(

I finally opened my CSS side by side with my HTML - and discovered I had the image in both! By removing the image in the CSS (had to do it there as I wanted to keep the link on the image in the HTML) I got it to stop jumping!

In a way I am glad this happened - I had never considered what would happen if the image appeared in both places - and now i will be scrupulous in avoiding this situation again. I'm only sorry it has taken me SO LONG to find and fix it! :-P
