    Change
    to
    Code:
    <td id="center-mid">
    Then create a CSS stylesheet or style somewhere that reads:
    Code:
    td#center-mid {
        background:  URL(http://lilions.com/home/images/cntmid.jpg) top center no-repeat;
        color: inherit;
    }
    This is one of the cool aspects of CSS...you can specify how and whether something repeats in your element.

    That's because your id isn't the background. Your id is just a unique way to identify the element you're working with. So you wouldn't put the background in the id. You'd put it in the CSS.

    I'm guessing, though, that you haven't used CSS much or heard of it before. http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp <-- give this link a shot. It'll help explain the basic concepts and things.

    Actually, you didn't. But it's not really your fault...you're learning. So I'll break it down a little more for you.

    Let's start with what you have:
    Code:
    <td background="http://lilions.com/home/images/cntmid.jpg" background-repeat: no-repeat;>
    The part I bolded...take it all out. Every last character. Gone. Replace it with id="center-mid". If you do it right, your tag will look like this and have absolutely no background at all (don't freak out yet...we'll take care of this):
    Code:
    <td id="center-mid">
    Then...you'll put this code somewhere in the <head> of your document:
    Code:
    td#center-mid { background: URL(http://lilions.com/home/images/cntmid.jpg) top center no-repeat; color: inherit; }
    Your background will appear, and it won't repeat.

    No problem, dude.

    Seriously, give yourself the time to learn CSS. I'm not saying that in an elitist sort of way, either. I'm saying it because it really will save you a lot of time and aggravation in the long run.
