    Hi,

    I am having a problem when importing simple images to create a rollover in dreamweaver. I have saved both the original and swap image as png's with transparency with the original holding true to the transparency required, however whatever I do which includes putting a different colour background on the swap image a white box surrounds it...can anybody please help?

    Thanks

    If you could give us the code or an example, that would help us determine what's wrong.

    Hi Jeffrey,

    Here is the code associated with the rollovers, thanks for your time...

    <div id="apDiv1"><a href="#" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('home_btn','','Button_Im ages/home_btn_over.png',1)"><img src="Button_Images/home_btn.png" alt="home" name="home_btn" width="74" height="23" hspace="20" border="0" id="home_btn" /></a><a href="#" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('services_btn','','Butto n_Images/services_btn_over.png',1)"><img src="Button_Images/services_btn.png" alt="services" name="services_btn" width="103" height="23" hspace="10" border="0" id="services_btn" /></a><a href="#" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('about_btn','','Button_I mages/about_btn_over.png',1)"><img src="Button_Images/about_btn.png" alt="about" name="about_btn" width="75" height="23" hspace="20" border="0" id="about_btn" /></a></div>

    Any time you have an image that has an anchor tag attached to it, browsers will automatically attach a border to it by default. Whether this is the actual case in this situation, I'm not exactly sure. But if it is, I would suggest adding this to your CSS:

    Code:
    img {
    border: none;
    }
    What that does is tell the browser that the new default for image anchor tags is they do not have a border around them. Aside from that, I'm unsure what could be the problem. Is it only the swapped image that has the border around it?

    I used the above code in the css but still nothing, and yes it is only the swapped image that is showing the border round it...any other ideas please?

    Is there a way that we can see the page to look at all of the code?

    Does the "mouseover" image itself have the border around it? If not, check in the :hover attribute of the links.

    I'm assuming you have been talking about the navigation on the top-right part of the website? I bet you could just text links instead of images for those. Then you could use CSS to style them in the same manner that they are right now (color, font, etc.). Also, search engines will like them better because they cannot read javascript but they can follow text links.
