    I would appreciate some help with an easy question (I imagine).

    I am trying to color the background of a page. However, when I do it with
    color.background

    It seems to only color the background directly behind the letters that I am typing. I'd like to have it color the entire "sheet of paper" with the color.

    Thanks.

    Code:
    body {
        background-color:   #FF0000;
    }
    That will make your entire page red. Adjust the RGB color as appropriate.
