    I am trying to code a site with a table-less layout. On each page I have a relative div (#main) (not static becuase I think this gets round another bug) positioned inside an absolute div. This main div has a black border. Inside it, I want small boxes in the top-left and bottom-right corners with borders on the sides that aren't touching the border of the main div (#header and #footer).

    This doesn't make a lot of sense, so please take a look at http://mysite.freeserve.com/personalised_pottery to see. The "about" section has it as I want it. In IE (v6) some of the bottom-right boxes (#footer) aren't flush with the bottom. Stupidly, they are all styled by the same external (linked) style sheet and the different colours are created using different classes (.home, .about etc that purely set background-color).

    The positioning seems fine in opera (though there are numerous other problems! Typical.). Please help!

    Here is the relevant code from the external style sheet:

    Code:
    div#main {
    position: relative;
    width: 100%;
    height: 100%;
    padding: 10px;
    padding-top: 20px;
    padding-bottom: 20px;
    margin-bottom: 10px;
    border-style: solid;
    border-width: 2px;
    border-color: #000;
    }

    div#header {
    position: absolute;
    left: 0px;
    top: 0px;
    color: #ffffff;
    font-family: verdana, chicago;
    font-size: 12px;
    font-weight: bold;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 2px;
    border-right-style: solid;
    border-right-color: #000000;
    border-right-width: 2px;
    border-bottom-style: solid;
    border-bottom-color: #000000;
    border-bottom-width: 2px;
    }

    div#footer {
    position: absolute;
    left: auto;
    top: auto;
    right: 0px;
    bottom: 0px;
    color: #ffffff;
    font-family: verdana, chicago, comic;
    font-size: 12px;
    font-weight: bold;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 2px;
    border-left-style: solid;
    border-left-color: #000000;
    border-left-width: 2px;
    border-top-style: solid;
    border-top-color: #000000;
    border-top-width: 2px;
    }
    Also, any ideas as to why my page doesn't fit horizontally on 800/600 res? Works fine on my hard drive but the freeserve banner seems to muck things up!!

    Any help would be greatly appreciated; this is driving me mad!!

    Thanks! Matt.
