    Ok, the following code works fine in Chrome, but not in IE. The links are supposed to have a curvy background box when you hover over them. I am aware that IE doesn't support curvyness, but the background color doesn't appear on hover either. (It appears when I click it, and then goes away when I click elsewhere)

    Code:
    #top ul {
        white-space: nowrap;
        margin: 55px 0 0 360px;
        padding: 0;
        font-size: 17px;
        display: block;
        }
    #top li {
        display: inline;
        list-style-type: none;
        }
    #top li a{
        padding: 5px 5px;
        text-decoration: none;
        color: #146DA6;
        text-align: center;
        margin-right: 3px;
    }
    #top li a:link {}
    #top li a:visited {}
    #top li a:hover {
        background-color: #FFA533;
        -moz-border-radius: 10px;
        border-radius: 10px;
        color: #ffffff;
        }
    Is there a "hack" where I can tell the code to do something differently if the browser is IE?

    That should work. Usually when you see that behavior, it means that something else is overriding it. I don't see what else would on the surface, but that's because I don't see the full CSS.

    Try this, and it should tell you if something's overriding it:
    background-color: #FFA533 !important;

    On a personal note... when working with IE troubleshooting CSS issues, I've noticed this behaviour and have come to the conclusion that the IE browser engine needs a kick occasionally, for some reason it either doesn't recognize certain changes to a CSS file, or it doens't load the external css file properly until you close the browser and re-open.

    If I see that any other browser sees the change but IE is not, I usually just close the browser and restart... usually starts working properly.
