    One bit of what? Where? Which browser? Post that junk somewhere so we can see what you're talking about. Or, at the very least, post a screenshot with the problem marked.

    NM, your code was just really messy. Your footer was outside the </body> tag, you were missing a </div>, and the footer was inside the #main div.

    First rule of troubleshooting: if something's broke, run it through the W3C validator.

    See fixed code below.
    HTML Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <html>
    <head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css"/>
        <meta name="description" content="laser,lasers,golden light, light,painting with light, photographs, photography,
        cosmos, smoke, fine art, ">
        <meta name="keywords" content="HTML, CSS, XML">
    <title>JossReiverBanyProductions_laserworks</title>
    </head>
    <body>
        <div id="wrap">
        <div id="header"><h1>Joss Reiver Bany Productions</h1></div>
        <div id="nav">
            <p> Photography Joss Reiver Bany &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Laser technology by Golden Light Services</p>
        </div>
        <div id="main">
        <div id="maininner">
            <p> <h3>enlarged images go here</h3></p>
        </div>
    </div>
        <div id="footer">
            <p> contact details | links  |  secure paypal </p>
        </div>
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>

    I don't know if Ronald's got your answer or not, but checking through the W3 validator first is always a good thing.
