    Hi guys,

I recently purchased a template that I'm almost done filling out. Problem is, on the contact form, I'm not able to send messages. In Google Chrome, pressing submit does not. In Firefox, it says I need to choose my mail client to send, and the same in Internet Explorer.

How can I setup a contact form to send me an e-mail whenever someone submits a a contact request. I'm guessing my web hosting provider has something to do with this since you can't e-mail a form without a "From" email.

    Here is the contact form:

You're right. You need a from and a to email for your script to work properly. So you're not far off.

What you're looking for is called a form-to-email script. I'm not sure if you're familiar with any programming languages (it looks like you know, or are at least using, PHP). If you Google the term "form-to-email script" in your language of choice, you'll find lots. I can't really be of much more help to you than that.

Appreciate it. My web hosting provider told me they'd send me over a script that will email directly (without the need of a client). I know html to a degree, and I'm just looking into PHP now. Thanks!

    No probs.

By the way, strange question...how come your logo has a guy carrying golf clubs? It looks like he's about to go Office Space on that laptop.

Office Space is good but the theme we were going for is the "helpful Caddy" who helps you fix your computer. Kaddy is also a nickname of mine.

Ok so I followed http://webhostinghelpguy.inmotionhosting.com/web-hosting/formmail--getting-started/ this guide.

    Here is my code:

    PHP Code:
      <div id="form">
            <
    form action="cgi-bin/FormMail.pl" class="form_contact" method="post" enctype="text/plain">

                <
    p>
                <
    label for="user">Name</label>
                <
    input type="text" id="user" value="" class="field" />
                </
    p>

                <
    p>
                <
    label for="emailaddress">Email Address:</label>
                <
    input type="text" id="emailaddress" value="" class="field" />
                </
    p>

                <
    p>
                <
    label for="comments">Message:</label>
                <
    textarea id="comments" rows="5" cols="25"></textarea>
                </
    p>

                <
    input type="hidden" name="recipient" value="KCompRepair@gmail.com" />
            <
    input type="hidden" name="subject" value="KCompRepair Contact Form E-mail" />
            <
    input type="hidden" name="redirect" value="http://www.KComputerRepairOC.com" />
                <
    div style="margin-left: 150px;">
                <
    input type="submit" value="Submit" /> <input type="reset" value="Reset" />
                </
    div>

            </
    form>
        </
    div
When I submit, it takes me to a generic page that the FormMail.pl script takes me to and mentions the redirect page but doesn't actually redirect there. Also, I still haven't received the e-mails after submitting the form =/ Any ideas?

Might be that the Form.pl code I replaced a part with my domain when I'm trying to send to a gmail account, trying now..

Ok redirect is working now but I still don't have the e-mail..

Made an email account with my web host and changed the lines in the .pl script to:

    Code:
     @referers          = qw(KComputerRepairOC.com www.KComputerRepairOC.com );
      @allow_mail_to     = qw(Kaddy@kcomputerrepairoc.com);
    Still no e-mails T_T

There's a good script here - I have used it successfully on many sites.
Download the zip file - it gives you the HTML for the contact form, the php to process the form, and a text file to list any blocked IP's if you have to.
You only have to edit the first few lines but putting in your URL, the e-mail you want it sent to, and the URL of the "Thank you" page.
Be sure to upload the "blockip.txt" file even if you don't plan on using it - the script won't work without it.
