    Can anyone tell me why my site is not laid out like it supposed to when I open it in IE? Compare it between IE and Firefox and you'll see what I mean. I'm guessing it's got something to do with the compatibility problems IE has with CSS, is there an easy way around this?

    Hey man,

    The reason it's not displaying properly in IE is because you're making your code far more complicated and inefficiently than you need to. This doesn't appear to be your fault...this appears to be a side effect of ImageReady and its bizarre web slicing code.

    But do this:

    1) Make a Photoshop slice of both of your pictures big slice, not two.

    2) Export your slice, but not the HTML.

    3) Do something like this:
    div#content-area {background:  URL(path-to-your-slice-here) top left no-repeat;  padding-left:  (width of your slice + maybe another 20 pixels or so); }
    <div id="content-area">
    All of your copy
    This will perform the same across all browsers in and of itself (other code might mess it up, but generally doesn't). The only downside, and given the nature of your site it's very slight, is that your image of the fishermen, etc. won't show up in an image search because search engines don't interpret backgrounds as images.
