    Hi there, im new to this.

    I have created a website using Dreamweaver and i have done it using a CSS style guide.

    I can view my website fine in safari, firefox, google chrome but in internet explorer9 it comes up with purple lines around my images that i have made into links. Does anyone know the reason for this???

    I have put:

    a img {
    border: none;
    }

    as code in the css and it is still happening ??

    also......one of my boxes has jumped down the page and this only happens in explorer 9 :-S

    any help would be appreciated :-)

    You can try wrapping it in a div tag:
    div.img
    {
    border:none;
    }

    Actually, you don't have to use a div tag for the images - what you are experiencing is IE's default settings for linked images. Try a reset at the very start of your CSS like this:

    * {margin:0; padding:0; } /*this eliminates any margin and/or padding being added by the browser */
    img {border:none;} /* this removes any default image borders */

    You might want to use a reset for all of your img tags and set the border to none. It's good practice to reset everything before you start working.

    I agree with everything everyones said but i noticed that you had an a before image... remove the a and try again.
    If you send us the link (i cant seem to find it anywhere) we can take a look at the issue you have with the box's jumping about.
