    The margin left which i set to a % should keep the menu 20% from the left side of the window. However when I maximize it it keeps shifting.

    Code:
    #nav{
        list-style:none; /* must be set to none */
        font-weight:bold;/* font of the nav menu */
        width:auto;
        margin-left:20%;

        z-index:5;/* sets nav menu ontop of all others */

    }
    So in essence i need a window variable that updates upon window resize. how can I code this?

    pic attached.

    here is the code live

    Add a Div for the body, set the margins to 0 and padding to 0... sometimes this will keep the browser from imposing some padding and margins on it own...

    Is this just happening in IE ? or in other browsers...
