    I'm having issues with a menu I'm making and I was wondering if anyone could help me!
    I seem to have missed a margin or something somewhere, I'm sure I've solved this problem before but I seem to have forgotten like always!
    I will attach the picture of the webpage and and the scripts!
    The problem is quite clear that I have a space between the side of the menu and the left hand side of the page!
    I have resized the menu width to make it come out on one line and will fix the width after I get a solution to the gap problem!page.png index.png style.png

    I'm a dumb *** I didn't check if it was padding and not a margin because I thought they didn't automatically appear
    Anyway I added:
    *{
    padding:0px;
    }
    and it fixed my problem, but now I have another, my borders take up room and I'm sure they usually don't? help

    your picture of the code above shows they take up 20px width and 20px height ( 10px per side ), and yes borders do consume space in the overall scheme and should be counted in your spacing.
