    I had just created my first Sprite from Photoshop, and it looks great. But there is just one little problem, exporting it. I know that it should be exported in ' .ping ' format. I want to export it using ' .ping-24 ', but because of IE I was told to export it in ' .ping-8 '. ' .ping-8 ' makes the images look crappy. Any advice? Also, what can I do to export the sprite so it loads faster?

    I disregard IE's PNG issues. Basically, IE6 and older (less than 3% of the total US browser market and shrinking) can't do alpha transparency. If you're hooked on making it look right in those browsers, there are fixes:
