    Hey Guys,

I am using the yahoo media player for one of my clients(musician) websites. I have the mp3's in my html code being pull in by the media player javascript. Is there a way I can hide my mp3 links in the source code so they cannot be downloaded?

    Thanks for the help!

Not without using an on demand video streaming service.

Basically, if I can be downloaded to the browser, it can be captured.

A long time ago, I created a small flash player, and turned all the mp3's into swf files.

When the user clicked on the player, it called to swf file. Most users won't bother with that format because their mp3 players can't play it, so they don't bother with them.

A video streaming service will provide you the code needed to encrypt the sound files in something other than mp3 format, for the same purpose.

I'm sure ther are a lot more options out there for this now. I'm just really not into the music scene anymore.

Man, I really didn't want to have to do all of that. Has anyone else dealt with this?

If it's uploaded to the internet - consider it shared. There's always a way to get it.
