    Everytime I make a post. on the posts page you can see the author and date above the post. I want to get rid of this. What file could I find this piece of code in?

    depends on the theme - some offer the option to hide the date and author in the admin, others you'd have to fiddle with the code.
    If you can tell me which theme, I can probably help you out.

    Its a custom theme made with artisteer

    Oh. It has been a long time since I tried Artisteer - I found the code too bulky and not flexible enough.
    In that program you have to set those parameters when you create the theme, and before you save it, by deselecting the Show Author and Show Date boxes under the Articles menu.
