    Hello,
I'm very new to web design and am having a hard time figuring out what to do here...I would very much appreciate any tips or solutions you can offer!

I have a graphic that I want fixed to the bottom the page, but when the browser size is reduced, it overlaps the page content. My teacher had me put the graphic in a table with a transparent gif in the row above it. Now my content will not flow down the page, so I put it in a scroll box, but this is not what I want. I know there are probably a ton of things wrong here to sift through, but I would love any help you're willing to give

Here is a link to the site:

    Many thanks!

Thanks so much– I actually got some help elsewhere and have solved the problem. Much appreciated- should I post the solution or delete the thread?

Oh, please post the solution - it may help someone else.

Here is a response from Excavator on CodingForums:

    Hello swoops312,
The biggest thing wrong here is your teacher suggesting the use of tables and tranparent spacer .gif's. That's how we built website in the '80s but there are much better ways now.
I don't mean to be hard on your teacher but I'm sure you deserve, and want, to be taught modern web building practices and this very issue is a semi-pet-peeve of mine.

First off, see the link about tables in my signature line.
I don't think I even need to address the issue of using an image as a spacer...

Putting an image at the bottom of the viewport is easy, it get's a little more complicated when you want that image to move down when the content of your page grows longer. I have a demo showing a full-height layout that you are welcome to copy.
