    Hey guys (and gals),
You have helped me big time before.
Does anyone know how to put a 1 or 2px vertical line in the middle of a div tag but make it remain a certain distance from one of the sides.
ex. white background, fluid wrapper that contains text on left side and pictures with text below on right.

I would rather do it with 2 divs right next to eachother with a 2 px .png in between , but having problems.

The right div doesnt have to expand or contract but I would like the left to, and still have the right attached in a sense.

With all this rambling i think im more confused now than I was 10 minutes ago. If this makes any sense help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Maybe a sketch would help explain what you want?

Ok this is very rough. Ignore the colors and the iframe. Godaddy put an advert on each of my pages and the iframe refreshes multiple pages.
So the top (the white) and the bottom (the blue) I want the yellow to be yellow all the way from the white to blue. Ill make it all white in the end I just wanted to be able to know what im working with cuz im still learning

The main thing is I want the whole page to be fluid yet remain with the pics and a whatever else on the right and the main body on the left. I would also like a vertical seperator between image and body but im not gonna get greedy.

OK - opened the link and then jumped right out of my seat - forgot I had my speakers on high until the page loaded and then got blasted with something way too loud, with no way to turn it off. Please don't do this auto-play music - you'll lose people faster than you can blink.

That said, your layout problem is a fairly easy fix. You want two columns with a header and a footer, right? Well, actually two headers - one for the Flash thingy and one for the white area, and then one fluid column for the yellow part and one on the right for the picture, and finally the blue footer. So go look at this and see if it helps any. You'll get your vertical separator by putting a right border on the yellow column.

Lol. Sorry I forgot all about that. I usually have my speakers off at work. I had planned on turning it down like 7 db. But if you think I should turn it off all together I always trust your advice.

This lady is in the music industry and I am trying to convey to whole music thing. what do you recommend to get people to get the whole vibe.

I think you should go look at some site of other musicians, see how they do it. Many have samples, but they have controls, so the user can decide to start and stop the sound.
    Check out :
http://www.karenyoung.org/discography_live.html (click on an album along the top to choose it, then click on a song in the list on the left to play it)
http://www.normandguilbeault.com/e_index.php (the clips are listed in the left sidebar)
    you get the idea.
