    Hi there,

I was wondering if there was any way to lock the vertical or horizontal dimensions of an image to the edge of the browser? I am thinking specifically for mobile here as I'm looking for a way to see this image on a smart phone with it stretched to fit vertically, and allowing you to scroll sideways to view it:

so which of the 4000 mobile devices are your trying to fit the image to ?

point is if you use the viewport meta tag... you can minimize headaches

once you have control of the browser for mobile... you can define the <img src-"yourfile.jpg" width="100% height="100%"> and the image will fill the screen...

be warned... not every image you put up there will render exactly right as each mobile browser interprets based on the browser engine specs...

Your closest bet would be to determine max screen size for a handful of devices... then create your images to that exact size... using the 100% for height and width will push the image slightly to fill the screen...
