Anybody know how to highlight stuff in Notepad++?
I can't find a button for it on the tool bar and searching in Google has found me nothing.

What? You drag your mouse over it?
Either you're referring to something else or I'm really confused or something...

You don't. It's a text editor, not a publishing platform

If you're talking about using Notepad to make a piece of HTML-formatted text a certain color, here's a very simple example:
    Code:
    <span style="color: red; background-color: yellow;">This is really ugly highlighted text.</span>

Ok I just wanted to highlight in the actual program so I can learn coding better. I heard there are plugins for the program that do this but am unsure how to get/use them.

If you go to "Settings" and then go to "style Configurator" you can set the colors for the various tags.

    1. Select the text you want to highlight
    2. Press Ctrl+F (If you're on a Mac I don't care what the shortcut is.. buy a PC they're better)
    3. Select the 'Mark' tab
    4. Click 'Mark All'

Hey Presto.. all your code matching your selection is highlighted.

I use this all the time when I'm inserting a piece of code in multiple places.

Good luck with the learning process!!
