So Ive been testing out font squirrels font face kits. The issue im having is with smaller text it is so bitty, if you zoom the page into about 200% the fonts are really clear. Anyone know how to make the smaller text smoother, is it even possible?

    Just read this:-

    4. Webkit (Safari and Chrome) - fonts render very poorly. Cause: any text with @font-face applied will be rendered without anti-aliasing if there is a text element without anti-aliasing applied preceding it. Usually those are fonts smaller than 5px or monospaced fonts at small sizes which are rendered without anti-aliasing.

I dont know anything about anti-aliasing so not sure if this is my problem?

That's exactly what your problem is. Most fonts aren't designed to look good without anti-aliasing, so a lot of designers compensate by using relatively larger font sizes...that's why you see a lot of larger headings and things of that nature.

As a general rule of thumb (not a hard and fast one), the more intricate a font is, the less likely it is that it will look good the smaller it gets.
