    ok ladies and gentlefolk,

    here's a layout consiting of...

    header

    body

and then a footer that is all fancy (my origional one is lol)

    LAYOUT.jpg

my problem lies with how best to lay this out in div's and how to slice it... because obviously the header and content is not as wide as what the footer image will be because of that image...

normally i just create a div and add the image to background for layouts like most but...

with this one if i have the divs all the same width as the bottom... then the header and content divs wont align ... or will they?

if anyone could take 5 mins just to slice this small pic up to show me how they would lay this out...

i want the whole thing central on a page... Since the black / grey gradient would be my background..

    cheers

Here's what I would do. You really only need 2 images here. The rest could be done better with code. Here's how I would do it.LAYOUT.png

Set the footer div to position:relative. Move the div with the star inside the footer div and set the position absolute. Then just use bottom and left offsets to push it into place. You'll need to use negative values at least for the left to push the star out.
