    2e-12

    Is it 2 x e^-12 or 2 x 10^-12 ?

    Thanks.

e could be a variable, or it could be the exponent e (since it's not superscripted, I'm thinking it isn't).

Like WZ said, what's the context?

Are you using JavaScript to calculate something ?

If so, that would be the context, calculate what ?

    This is the sentence:

    Some examples of floating-point literals are 3.1415, -3.1E12, .1e12, and 2E-12

What I want to know is what is 2E-12?

    That is the answer...

2e-12 is an example of a floating point literal.

The -12 is an expression not part of a calculation

I think this is another you should google to get a full explanation on... It's hard to discuss mathematical theory in a forum

I googled it...since it's a question of syntax I didn't find any answers. Hoping someone here knows what that is the syntax for.
