    I'd like to create a small website that features the basic HTML 5 features such as header, footer and nav.

    What should I put in my CSS code and <head> section to make sure the web page is viewed correctly in IE browsers?

    Should I also include the Meyer CSS reset?

    Thanks

    Never use the Meyer CSS reset unless you intend to alter it. It's a beginning, not a be-all-end-all-cure-all to all of life's problems. Good thing you asked first...that thing has caused more issues than it has solved (e.g. ordered lists not showing numbers).

    Basically, all you need is this for your CSS (if you use other HTML5 tags, add them to the list, but these are the only ones I generally use):
    Code:
    header, nav, section, article, aside, footer, hgroup {display: block;}

    To make sure html5 works in IE all the way back to IE6 and IE7 do this:
    You can use http://html5boilerplate.com/ together with http://code.google.com/p/html5shiv/ and you're good to go.

    For some other cool features, like video in old IE, you need to use workarounds like Flash for video and Javascript libs for canvas.

    The other thing you can use that way is PIE. It's a bit flaky, particularly with subfolders, but it does work.

    Make sure you put the <!DOCTYPE html> at the top of the page, and I use Modernizr
