    Hi.
    I've got a hide/show setup on my portfolio website, so when you click a button a certain content is shown, whilst the rest is hidden. It's working well, but the problem is the content that is hidden is taking up space and thus making the vertical height of my wrapper extend all the way (which I want it to be flexible - extend and contract according to what is displayed)

    That's because your script uses visibility:hidden to hide the other content. Visibility:hidden just makes things invisible, but they're still there. You need to use display:none instead.
