Please explain "wont upload correctly" ?

What's wrong with it ? Or what do you think its doing or not doing, and why you think its not displaying properly.

Without seeing how you're applying the CSS to the actual conten ( you stooped ... We would only be guessing.

So you either gotta provide some more detail... Or post ALL the code... Or both or better yet... Post a link to the live page.

Also, remove your meta description from inside the CSS area... I've never seen that break a browser or keep if from displaying CSS correctly... But then again... You could be kicking the browser into quirk mode with the meta description embedded inside the <style> tags.

    Hi Webzarus.

I tried putting the style tag after the meta tag in my notepad++, but what happened was, when I did that, the blue background dissappeared, the background is just a blue powdery image which I got from Gimp Graphics.

Yes, I see, I forgot the html with all that typing. the file wouldnt load, said error or something, so I had to type all this in agony.

the site is as [EDIT: Escort agency site link removed by TheGAME1264.] but there isnt much to show now, Ive tried deleting all the files to edit them again, The first one seems to just stay on. even though Ive taken it off, fiddled with it at all angles, tested, uploaded again.

But, if you click on the view source, and then will see the source code.
people tell me its correct, so I dont know if its just the hostcompany staff being stubborn or something, Im not sure.

The webpage wont load correct, the site is [EDIT: Escort agency site link removed by TheGAME1264.]
Ive downloaded the other two pages now, also the first one, but it never actually would go off, but edited it, tried to see where Im going wrong, uploaded again, but I dont know,
if its the hostcompany staff, or my code, or what technical fault it is.
I cant ask the staff anything, cause they just reply, I must get a webdesigner and give me a company name,
but, thats not the point, I want to learn webdesign by myself.

Why do you keep starting new threads for this same conversation .... This is like thread #3 or 4 on the same issue...

    Some points to make.

    1. You hosting company is correct, they are a hosting company period. If you look at your TOS they specifically say "we do not provide web design support".

    2. What point or benefit would it be to them if they were doing something to your code ? They want your site to work, so if its successful, you'll either buy more space, or recommend them to someone else so they sell more meaning make more money. It would be counterproductive to their interest to "mess with your code".

    3. Perhaps ( based on previous questions and answers ), if you're just starting out and actually want to learn web design, to take some courses until you understand the basics and concepts of how it works.

I finally got a chance to look at your code...

    2 things

    1. In the CSS you reference your body background image from one location, but in the HTML you have added another background image ( right after the body tag )... And you're calling that same ( named image ), from a different location.

I suggest you drop the one you are referencing right after the body tag, because ... Callin an image like that is going to tell the browser to display that image... Then start displaying everything else.

    2. Lower down in the code you have an "inline" style tag...

    Since you're using html5 ... You can't / shouldn't use inline styling.

Let me suggest, until you have a FULL grasp of design and code concepts, STAY AWAY from trying to learn and design to HTML5 standards....

Fix the 2 things mentioned above, lets see what happens

WZ is right. Please keep everything related to one topic in one thread, rainbow. As far as I can tell, there's no way for XenForo to merge threads, or I would have done that already.

He's also right in that you're biting off way more than you can chew, even though your site is static HTML. I told you that you had to take the meta description tag out from inside your style tags and you haven't even done that, never mind the stuff WZ is talking about.

You should be validating your code: http://validator.w3.org/ . This alone will solve most of your problems.

Now, I'm going to remove your links...not because they're not relevant, but because you're linking to adult content. I think that's a violation of the WDF host ToS. But for those wondering, this is an escort site he's talking about. If you don't know what an escort site or an escort agency is, Google it and move out from under your rock.

That's actually where I'm going to agree with your host. I don't know how the escort industry works in South Africa, but having worked on an escort site many years ago, the one thing I can tell you is that those girls don't come cheap. You're talking 3-digit an hour stuff here. The money is there to pay a decent designer. Either that, or you're going to have to spend a lot of long hard time to get from your point A of "what am I doing?" to your point B of "I get this now". Yes, I realize that this is a forum for helping web designers and people who don't know get started out, but there's a fine line between helping someone and doing just about everything for them.

Thanks Game, thanks Webzarus for the hard advice.
I tried put the meta tag outside the style tag, but then the background dissappeared, so I put it back again.
    Thanks again.

What WZ said. If your background disappeared, it's because something else is wrong. The fact that something "fixed" itself when you moved the tag back inside doesn't mean that the "solution" is correct.
