I am almost finishing with a HTML template but there is a "advanced search" function implemented.

How do I make the search feature actually work on the website?
Tell me everything I out to know.

the best way (i think) is to do a document index search through the various directories in which your website is housed..

To do this u will need to learn a server-side language.. There has been enough talk about the different options so you should know the various languages which u can choose from.

Personally i would write it in Perl as it has the best document indexing capabilities, but if you dont already know CGI then attempting it would be a bit useless as perl isnt a particularly easy language to learn...

There is other easier but less effective methods such as packing a bunch of keywords into a datdbase and then using SQL'S
LIKE '%...%' query to try and get a match.
