    HTML Web form to PDF

ok so I have a web form and I need a button that says 'print form' that button will then generate the form inquiry as a PDF.

I'm not talking about when you right click in your browser and print/save as PDF.

Any body know where I can find that functionality?

Sound rather specific. You would probably have to code it yourself.

Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks.

Yeah... that's not gonna happen, not that advance in coding. I've seen it done before though, just can't remember were I've seen that action performed

Like Andrew said, that's going to be a bugger no matter how it's done. I've done on the fly document generation (although never PDF...just several other formats), and it takes a minimum of a few hours.

You'll probably need a library like this, and some time:

php To PDF - A simple solution for PDF generation using PHP

oh boy... what if when the data gets submitted to the email it generates it as PDF, will that be more difficult?

You mean generating a PDF attachment to put into an email? That's usually the much easier part. Most server-side languages have some form of mail function included, and it usually includes the ability to attach things. It'll add to your workload, but it shouldn't be a hair-ripping exercise, either.

yes , basically what I need is when the data is submitted it goes to me, the admin and a copy sent to the person that submitted the form as PDF to our emails

Is the PDF a must in this case? If it isn't, I wouldn't do it. A lot of mail servers block attachments or filter based on extensions (e.g. Microsoft Exchange Server), and PDF is fairly common as far as blocking goes. So if you're sending an email to the person that submitted the form and there's a PDF attached, BOOM! Mail server asplodes it upon entry and the person that submitted the form never gets the email.

I'd suggest an HTML-formatted email if possible. It'll probably be easier for you to create and code, it'll bypass any extension filters, and it'll hopefully get through most mail server spam filters (read: every one other than YahoooooooooooooooooooolyCRAPhowarethoseclownsstil laround?)

yeah i'm afraid its a must, requested by the client. because the form itself is ridiculously long.
