Help :( Make New Master chained to Existing Pages

Hi, I'm very, very new to web design. I apologize if this is a stupid question, or in the wrong place, but I hope someone can help me.

I am using Expressions Web 4, and I downloaded a free web template off the internet. That came without a master page, just an index.html, and 3 other basic pages. I would like to have a master page, so that if I decide I want to change something in the dropdown menu I don't have to redo hundreds of pages (I intend to have a lot of pages - this is a reference website).

Could someone explain to me how to make a master page and connect it to the four basic pages I already have? From there, I think it will be easy enough to duplicate those pages so I have many, all connected to the master.

    Thank you.

I would say if you download the template off the internet you cannot save the internal pages of a website. So, I would suggest you when you download a template make the overall template as a zip file and then save it. I have learned this from Denver web design company.
