    dreamweaver help

I purchased an html5 web template for a church site I'm trying to help with. I liked the layout but need to edit it. I have dreamweaver cs5, but not sure how to import the full site to edit it. I can open a page at a time but it seems as if the links are all broken. I'm new to this and could use some advice. How can I view my full site in dreamweaver so I can see what is going on with it?

Without seeing what it has going on under the hood, it's hard to say for certain, but I'm fairly confident, based on how these things tend to be built, that you can't do what you're hoping to do. Dreamweaver has it's own templating setup, which is very, and I do mean very unlikely to be the same as the one in the template.

If that's the case, then is there any software that I could use to edit this site? It says it is bootstrap 3 and HTML5.

Notepad++ or Adobe Brackets are both good to use and can handle that and much more. There are more but most common i see is Notepad++.. I always include Brackets in my recommendation because I am more familiar with it and it is open source.

The precursor to what Vapr said is that you're going to need to learn to edit this without a visual editor. HTML and CSS at minimum. Judging by that theme, a passing knowledge of Javascript might be helpful.

Actually, the theme should have come with an instruction file of some kind. Could you post that?

Yeah, like I suspected. There's not going to be a way to do this by just opening it up in DW. You'll need to edit the individual files with a text editor. That file provides some pretty decent instructions on how to do everything, though.

Thanks, I downloaded notepad++ and it seems pretty simple. I know enough coding to be dangerous, but I think I can fumble my way around it.
