How level progression systems are made?

I mean system like on Khan Academy and Duolingo (you complete a certain task and you gain ''xp'' in a progress bar until a new ''level'' or title is reached).

Tried researching by this name but got nothing. Not sure if there's a different specific name for what I mean.

Are they made with JS? Is it advanced coding? Is there any jquery for it?

I imagine it's made with js. Id have to sign up and earn a bunch of xp to tell you for sure. Login, right click, inspect element, and you can see what script was used to create it. I prefer to to dev progress bars in js to animate change (like a loading bar filling up).

I don't know how to respond to your query 'Is there any jquery for it? '. Are you trying to ask if there are any jQuery plugins for it?
Jquery is just an addon to javascript.

I'm too newbie to be able to understand the messy code in inspect element. And meant exaclty that with 'jquery for it'.

Someone who knows js and jquery would be able to use jquery to do some of this sure, but there isnt anything pre-built in jquery that you could use.

I dont know anything about it and honestly it has nothing to do with the conversation outside of him mentioning it.

I did a one-touch ban and clean because our friend was link dropping.

As far as the question is concerned, it's not a JS question at all...it's a server-side question. The reason you don't know what to look for is because it's a feature used by a microscopically small number of sites. Basically, you need a database full of tasks, point scores, and levels. User completes the tasks, server-side code assigns the appropriate points. Even if we factor out point abuse and hacking, it's a somewhat complex task and probably too much for a newbie.

I was under the impression the OP was interested in the progress bar widget. In which case I would still use js to develop.
