Is it good to start with Bootstrap?

    Hello,

I'm a web designer, and at this point I don't do coding, so only PSD. But I've considered learning how to code too using HTML & CSS, and what I want to ask you about is if it's good to start with using Bootstrap, I'm aiming to design simple websites, templates and upload them later to websites like Themeforest.
The question is, is it a good idea to start using Bootstrap ?

    Thank you for your time.

If you don't do coding, you're not a web designer. You're a graphic designer that lays out websites. Website designers know HTML and CSS at a minimum.

As far as whether you should use Bootstrap...I would advise against it. The reason is one of the bad reasons listed here and at many other places...the Bootstrap framework is bloated, as is the case with many frameworks. That, and in order to properly use the framework, you'll need to know the code for the framework such that you'll probably either make your own or strip down the framework to its barest essentials so that you can customize your own anyway.

Hi, thanks for your reply, I appreciate your time.
I'm only thinking about using the Grid in Bootstrap, since it's responsive and mobile first, and it would be hard for me to create my own grid at this time. This is why I thought about Bootstrap.
Anyway, I've found my answer, thanks again : )

Is it really that hard to create your own grid? Have you looked into it at all or just assumed it was? I feel like Flexbox is really worth looking into. I use to go to CssTricks website and use their lil Flexbox info page until I got the hang of it. Just remember to use prefixes for browsers.

If not id go with a smaller framework than Bootstrap

I recommend against using any framework if you don't understand the technology that it is based on.
