Background sound is not working online

    Good day.

I updated webpage by adding background sound using Microsoft expression 2, sound format is wave, it works on ie offline but not online, I uploaded sound file to same folder as index.html in public_html.

    code : <bgsound loop="5" src="flp_index.wav" />

    Please help.

    Thanks.

First off, its highly recommended you don't auto play any sounds/music.

You shouldn't use the <bgsound> tag but rather the <audio> tag, like suggested here

I completely agree with this. Having audio playing on your website is generally a bad idea.

If you must include it, have it turned off when the user comes to your site, and give them the option to turn it on if they want it.

Like many users as soon as a webpage starts making unexpected sound, I leave, and don't return.

Its a good thing for your website that the background audio isn't working, a blessing in disguise

I agree with everyone else. As soon as I get to a web site with background music I leave as fast as I possibly can. I would never take the time to look for the control to turn it off or turn down my speakers. Usually I about jump out of my chair when the music starts since it startles me.
