    Is having a large Z number bad for design and SEO?

    Sorry, I'm a novice so this is all a bit alien to me! I bought a premium template and the developer made some adjustments for me. They made the z index 9999999 to add a couple of features but when asking for help regarding a pop up shopping cart with somebody else, they said this was a very bad way to do coding. Is this correct? Does anyone know whether it will affect my SEO? Thanks

    Here is the code that was added:

    @media screen and (min-width: 1024px) {
    .et_pb_row > .et_pb_column:nth-child(1), .et_pb_row > .et_pb_column:nth-child(3) {
    position: relative;
    top: -176px;
    z-index: 9999999999999999999999;

    It will have no effect on your SEO.

    It's bad coding practice because it creates a scenario where you need an even larger number if you want a z-index higher than that.

    What he said^

    Its not really an issue, just lazy. They did that so they know thats the highest z index.

    What they said. You generally want to start your z-index at 1 and go from there. That way, it's easy to figure out how things are stacked.
